DJ GREEN LANTERN - YES WE CAN: THE MIXTAPE

Ladies and gentlemen, the elected leaders of Hip-Hop America have officially spoken! After a short delay, The Evil Genius DJ Green Lantern finally dropped his much anticipated mixtape Yes We Can to support the next President of the United States of America. The political statement comes from some of the most respected voices in hip-hop such as Joel Ortiz, Nas, Talib Kweli, Russell Simmons, Rhymefest, Jay-Z, and more.

I never thought I would live long enough to see a rap mixtape dedicated to a presidential candidate. In an industry full of disagreements and altercations, it's truly a beautiful sight to see the hip-hop community put their egos aside to rally behind a universal cause. DJ Green Lantern purposely dropped Yes We Can in one large MP3 file so people listen to the project in its entirety, but I'll update the link once the spit version is available. Hit the jump to view the mixtape's star-studded track list.

Obama is no liberal. I'm insulted when he's "accused" of being a Socialist. He's yet another charismatic, capitalistic sophist to put the masses back into a deep stupor. Change doesn't happen in a voting both (Come on. American "democracy" sucks). You want change? Do it yourself. Voting is the least effective way of creating change, right above inaction and apathy.

Rant over.
