LIL WAYNE BLOG #4 STRAIGHT FROM THE VMAS

Everybody's eyes will be on Weezy tonight as the barbaric martian steps onto the biggest stage in television. After selling well over two million copies of the The Carter III, an album that is still ranking in over 50,000 units a week almost three months after its release, Lil Wayne has confidently stabilized himself as an industry giant. It is only September and critics are already pronouncing the hoarse-voiced rapper as artist of the year.

Alongside Kanye West, Weezy is the only rapper that was able to flourish to the top while still being critically acclaimed, a landmark that is very difficult to accomplish in today's watered-down hip-hop industry. Tonight on the 2008 MTV Video Music Awards, Lil Wayne is nominated in two categories (Best Hip-Hop Video/Best Male Video) and he is also scheduled to perform "Lollipop." He squeezed some time in during rehearsals last night for a quick "Weezy Blog" where he announces that he is dateless for the event. Weezy? Dateless? Let's be real here.
