DJ BABU X BISHOP LAMONT X M.O.P. X EVIDENCE

From DJ Premier to Dr. Dre to Pete Rock, there's a producer inside every disc jockey. Beat Junkies member and one-third of the reputable LA hip-hop group Dilated Peoples DJ Babu has found his inner-beat maker. The Filipino-American earned a name for himself in the early-to-mid '90s after laying down flawless turntablism routines and rhythms during international DJ competitions. He soon got in touch with the vastly growing underground hip-hop movement in LA and began taking records to an entirely new level with the addition of his immaculate scratching, beat juggling, and needle dropping techniques.

From 2002-2003, DJ Babu released two compilation mixtapes, Duck Season and Duck Season (Volume 2), which consist of hand-picked personal favorite songs from artists like KRS-One to Wildchild. This fall marks the official face-lift of the noted series with Duck Season 3, as DJ Babu takes over the production boards for the entire project. “It started out as a mixtape that featured some of my favorite tracks,” explains DJ Babu. “Now it has fully evolved into a platform of my own production. The album is still presented in the classic Beat Junkie mixtape style, but that’s just a clever way for me to disguise my LP.”

Following the release of DJ Revolution's King of the Decks last week, DJ Babu is also striving to prove that the DJ is, and will always be, the most important player in the hip-hop circuit. And they can produce some darn good music too. Below are the latest three leaks from Duck Season 3 which feature appearances from Bishop Lamont, M.O.P, and Evidence.
